DPC, ADSU seek permanent solution to Dimasa grievances in Borlangfer

Haflong, October 5: The Borlangfer branch committees of the Dimasa Peoples Council (DPC) and the All Dimasa Students’ Union (ADSU) have jointly appealed to the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) to address the long-pending problems faced by Dimasa Kachari communities living along the Lumding-Diphu road and find a permanent solution.

Their key demands include:

1. Road connectivity from Pathargaon to Borlangfer.

2. A road from Single Basti to Borlangfer.

3. A road from Raijaodisa to Langcholiet via Kerla Sing village.

4. Construction of a railway flyover at Borlangfer railway station for both vehicles and pedestrians.

5. A bridge over the Longding River at Mesebdisa connecting Radaodisa in Dima Hasao district, near Manderdisa.

6. A road from Dilangi to 12 Kilo via Khejurbond and Tamulbari.

7. Exclusion of the Hojaipur-Borlangfer area from the proposed wildlife area.

The DPC Assam Central Committee has extended its support to the genuine grievances raised by the Borlangfer committees and appealed to Dr Tuliram Ronghang, Chief Executive Member of the KAAC and MLA, to take necessary steps to resolve the issues.

The organisations said addressing these long-standing concerns would improve connectivity and infrastructure and contribute to the overall development of the Dimasa Kachari community and the region.
