Train Services Continue to Face Disruptions on Lumding-Badarpur Hill Section
Haflong, July 30: Rail services through the Lumding-Badarpur hill section of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) continue to remain disrupted due to track settlement at New Harangajao (NHGJ) station, forcing the railway authorities to extend cancellations, reschedule several trains and regulate others in the interest of passenger safety.
According to an official bulletin issued on Thursday, both Line No. 1 and Line No. 2 at New Harangajao station remain suspended following track settlement. While the condition of Line No. 3 is under constant monitoring, all trains are currently being operated through this single line. To avoid the movement of passenger trains between 7:00 pm and 5:00 am, NFR has imposed a series of temporary operational changes.
Among the major affected services are the Guwahati-Dullabcherra Express (15617/15618), which has been cancelled on the notified dates, along with the Guwahati-Silchar Express (15615/15616), whose services remain cancelled between Guwahati and Silchar until the end of July and early August.
Several long-distance trains, including the Naharlagun-Agartala Express, Agartala-Naharlagun Express, Guwahati-Sangaldan Express, Rangiya-Silchar Express and other passenger services, have been rescheduled by several hours to ensure safe passage through the affected section.
In addition, trains such as the SMVB-Agartala Express, Agartala-Anand Vihar Tejas Express, Silchar-New Delhi Poorvottar Sampark Kranti Express and several other services are being regulated en route or departing at revised timings due to operational constraints on the hill section.
NFR has advised passengers to verify the latest train status and departure timings before commencing their journey, as operational changes may continue until track conditions are fully restored.
