DHAC CEM Thanks Assam CM for Historic Recognition of Dimasa Language, Donates ₹10 Lakh to Relief Fund

 Haflong, July 30: Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council, Debolal Gorlosa, on Thursday met Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and expressed his sincere gratitude for the historic decision to recognise the Dimasa language as an official language for official correspondence in Dima Hasao district, alongside English.

Describing the decision as a proud and significant milestone for the Dimasa community, Gorlosa said the recognition would go a long way in preserving, promoting and strengthening the linguistic and cultural heritage of the Dimasa people. He also appreciated the Chief Minister for taking the landmark decision in the interest of safeguarding Assam's rich cultural diversity.

During the meeting, the DHAC CEM also handed over a cheque of ₹10 lakh to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund as a contribution from the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council to support people affected by the recent floods across Assam.

The contribution reflects the Council's commitment to standing in solidarity with flood-affected families during this difficult time.

Gorlosa was accompanied by Haflong MLA Smt. Rupali Langthasa and BJP Dima Hasao President Shri Dhriti Thaosen during the meeting with the Chief Minister.
