Bengali Matri Sangha Conducts Cleanliness Drive and Plantation Programme in Haflong

 Haflong, July 15: The Bengali Matri Sangha, Haflong, organised a cleanliness drive and plantation programme in the town on Wednesday as part of its ongoing efforts to promote environmental awareness and civic responsibility.

Members of the association actively participated in cleaning public areas around the iconic "I love Haflong" installation and nearby surroundings. Equipped with brooms, gloves, and cleaning materials, the participants removed litter and appealed to the public to maintain cleanliness in the town.

The programme also included a tree plantation drive to encourage environmental conservation and increase green cover. Members planted saplings at selected locations and stressed the importance of protecting nature for future generations.

Speaking on the occasion, members of the association urged residents to adopt eco-friendly practices and work collectively to keep Haflong clean and green. They said such initiatives help spread awareness about environmental protection while inspiring community participation.

The programme concluded with a pledge by the participants to continue organising similar awareness activities in the future for the welfare of the town and the environment.
