Summer Vacation Workshop inaugurated at Maibang
Haflong, July 15: A 15-day Summer Vacation Workshop for 2026-27, organised by the Department of Cultural Affairs, was inaugurated on Wednesday at PM Shri Maibang Higher Secondary School with the participation of students, teachers and cultural enthusiasts.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, Cultural Development Officer (i/c) Goutom Bodo outlined the objectives and modalities of the workshop. He said practical training would be imparted in yoga, drama, singing, painting, dance and other art forms by Basic Society, an NGO based in Mahur.
The programme commenced with colourful cultural performances, followed by a yoga session in which students took active part. The workshop aims to encourage students to engage in creative and extracurricular activities during the summer vacation while promoting discipline, talent and appreciation for various art forms.
Among those present on the occasion were SDIPRO Maibang Rijit Kachari, Principal of PM Shri Maibang Higher Secondary School Smti Sujala Bodo, faculty members, representatives of cultural organisations and students.
