Rail Yatra Vritant Puraskar Yojna 2026

With the aim of
seeking experiences related to rail travel of general public including railway
men and on the basis of those experiences, to improve the facilities of
railways and to increase the use of Hindi, The Ministry of Railways (Railway
Board) is organizing a competition "Rail Yatra Vritant Puraskar Yojna”.
The aim of this competition is to upgrade railway facilities and also to
promote the use of Hindi.
Every citizen of
India travels by rail hundreds of times in his lifespan. The pleasant
experiences of rail travel remain etched in his mind. By writing these sweet
memories of rail travel, now he can win the award too.
Cash prizes and
citations will be given to the winners of this scheme. Under this, a first
prize of Rs. 10,000, second prize of Rs. 8,000 and a third prize of Rs. 6,000
will be given. Apart from this, there are five consolation awards, in which Rs.
4,000 will be given each.
Rail travelogue
should be in Hindi language and original. Minimum 3000 words and maximum 3500
words should be used. Rail travelogue should be typed in double space and have
one inch margin on all four sides. The total number of words should be
mentioned and pages must be numbered. Name, designation, age, office/residence
address, mother tongue, mobile number, e-mail, total number of words of the
story, etc. should be mentioned in capital letters at the beginning of the
story on a full sheet of paper.
The
officers/employees working in the service of the Central or State Government,
who wish to participate in this scheme, will have to give a declaration to the
effect that no case related to Vigilance/Discipline & Appeal Rules is
pending or contemplated against them. Applicants who are not in government
service, they will have to give a declaration to the effect that neither any
criminal case is going on against them nor they are facing any kind of
punishment.
Apart from this, all
the participants have to submit a declaration mentioning that "The related
rail travelogue is my original composition, it has not been rewarded under any
other award scheme."
Any Indian citizen
willing to participate can send his/her entry in duplicate by 31st
July, 2026 to the Assistant Director, Hindi (Training), Room no. 316 - COFMOW
Railway office complex, Tilak Bridge, ITO, New Delhi - 110002 without fail. On
receipt of a single copy of the account, the entry will be rejected. Entries
received after the last date will not be considered by the Ministry.
