CEM Debolal Gorlosa inaugurates Diham Raji Playground at Haflong

Haflong,  January 9: Chief Executive Member of the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC), Debolal Gorlosa, formally inaugurated the Diham Raji Playground at Haflong on Friday.

The inauguration programme was attended by NCHAC Chairman Mohet Hojai, Executive Member for Sports and Youth Welfare Probita Johari, EM Donpainon Thaosen, along with other council members and dignitaries.

Speaking to media persons, CEM Gorlosa said that the playground has been constructed under the council’s special package scheme. He added that more such playgrounds are being constructed across the district to promote sportsmanship among the youth and to provide proper spaces for physical activities.

He further informed that, as part of efforts to encourage young talents in sports, 30 youths would soon be appointed to government jobs in the district under the sports quota.

To mark the occasion, a friendly football match was organised between teams from Diham Raji and Sengya Sambhudhan Raji. The prize money for both teams was sponsored by the CEM himself.
