Shri Ashish Bansal, General Manager (Construction), Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), conducted a window trailing inspection from Badarpur to Agartala, Agartala to Nishchintapur and Sabroom on 14th October 2026. The inspection commenced from Badarpur and covered the entire stretches, with detailed reviews and discussions involving senior officers from NFR.

existing railway infrastructure, including tracks, bridges and associated
safety aspects. He assessed the progress of various works and issued necessary
instructions to the concerned officials, emphasizing safety, quality, timely
completion and proper maintenance of railway assets.
Shri
Ashish Bansal reviewed the status of Road Over Bridges (ROBs) in the
Kumarghat–Agartala section, which are aimed at eliminating level crossings,
enhancing road safety and improving public convenience. A total of 23 ROBs have
been sanctioned under the Second Revised Estimate of the Kumarghat–Agartala
project, with contracts awarded for 12 ROBs, where work is in progress. He

during the current financial year, along with the completion of railway portion
works for three ROBs.

Three ROBs are being constructed by the Public Works Department (PWD), while one ROB is being undertaken by the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL). Railway officials were instructed to maintain close coordination with these agencies and promptly resolve issues related to Railway. For the remaining ROBs where construction agencies are yet to be appointed, the General Manager directed officials to explore innovative and modern construction techniques, including the use of Ultra-High-Performance Concrete (UHPC), to minimize land requirements and facilitate efficient execution
Shri Ashish Bansal also inspected the Agartala–Akhaura cross-border railway project and visited Nishchintapur railway station to review the status of the remaining works. He instructed the officials to expedite the completion of pending activities so that passenger train operations can commence at the earliest. railway infrastructure, safety arrangements and maintenance activities. He
issued necessary instructions to the concerned officials to ensure the
continued safety, reliability and efficient maintenance of railway assets.

The proposed doubling is expected to support future traffic growth and enhance railway capacity in the region, subject to approval and implementation.
The
inspection reflects Northeast Frontier Railway (Construction) focus on
expediting ongoing infrastructure projects, strengthening railway safety and
improving operational efficiency. These initiatives are expected to enhance
passenger convenience, improve connectivity and contribute to the overall
