NFR Connects with Its Passengers through Rail Jan Samvaad for Better Travelling Experience

 Guwahati, 22nd October, 2026:

In a major initiative toward public participation and responsive administration, Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has organised "Rail Jan Samvaad" drive today, October 22nd 2026, across all divisions and stations under its jurisdiction. Conducted under the directives of the Ministry of Railways and as part of Special Campaign 6.0, the initiative establishes an interactive platform bridging railway authorities and commuters directly on the station floors. The programme provided passengers with an opportunity to share their travel experiences and raise concerns as well as suggestions for improvements.

Designated teams of railway officials, frontline staff and commercial supervisors are interacting directly with passengers at station concourses and waiting halls to gather feedback on on-board comfort, station amenities and catering quality. These interactions provide travellers with an accessible platform to raise concerns and suggest improvements in railway services.

Led by senior railway officials, including the General Manager, Additional General Manager & Divisional Railway Managers, the campaign follows the philosophy of “Jan Ki Awaaz, Yuva Ki Soch & Rail Ka Samadhaan”. Its dedicated youth outreach initiative, “Rail Jan Yuva Samvaad”, encourages young commuters and students to share ideas and suggestions on using technology to improve the passenger experience.

The campaign also promotes safety awareness by sensitising passengers against footboard travel and trespassing on railway tracks. Railway personnel are highlighting safe travel practices and encouraging passengers to share responsibility for protecting public property.

Feedback collected during Jan Samvaad will be systematically digitised and reviewed to identify issues requiring immediate attention and those needing departmental coordination or longer-term planning. By translating passenger suggestions into practical improvements, the initiative aims to strengthen accountability, transparency and public trust in railway services.
