Training on Integrated Farming for Tribal Farmers Concludes at Haflong in Dima Hasao

 Haflong,  Sept 10: A two-day training programme on Integrated Farming System (IFS) for Sustainable Livelihood of Tribal Farmers concluded on Wednesday at the Skill Development Centre, Haflong.

The programme was jointly organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Dima Hasao and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Research Complex for North Eastern, Patna was took part by 50 farmers from across Dima Hasao district. 

The training impart the farmers with knowledge on various integrated farming techniques, such as combines crop farming, livestock, poultry, and fish farming to boost income for tribal communities. 

Scientists from ICAR, Rajesh Kumar, Kamal Sharma and Narayan Bhagat, were present as resource persons during the training.

Executive Member, Dima Hasao Autonomous Council, Donpainon Thaosen, attended the concluding programme along with Dr. Arthendu Chakraborty, In-charge, KVK Dima Hasao.

The programme aims to create awareness among local on proper farming with most suitable farming in the hills district and enhance sustainability and stabilize farm income by utilizing various farming techniques, improving the livelihoods of small and marginal tribal farmers.

On the day, chicken, feeds and other small agriculture tools were also provided to support and encourage the local farmers.
