Preparatory Meetings Held for Month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan in Dima Hasao

 Haflong, Sept 15: Preparations are underway in Dima Hasao for the upcoming Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, a month-long programme scheduled from September 17 to October 17, 2026, commemorating 25 years of public service by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

A preparatory meeting chaired by Rebecca Changsan, ACS, Joint Secretary of the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council (DHAC), was held today at the Officers’ Conference Hall of the Council. Heads of departments and senior officials participated in the deliberations, reviewing plans and responsibilities to ensure the successful execution of the Abhiyan across the district.

Changsan emphasized the importance of collective effort in translating the vision of Seva Sankalp into meaningful grassroots action. She urged departments to align their initiatives with the spirit of service, inclusivity, and community empowerment.

The programme will feature awareness campaigns and outreach activities in villages and towns, special drives focusing on education, health, sanitation, and women’s empowerment, celebrations of key national days, and community-oriented events. Collaborative efforts with civil society organisations are also planned to maximize public participation.

In a parallel initiative, District Commissioner Gayatri Devidas Hyalinge, IAS, convened a meeting at the DC Conference Hall with officers from line departments. Senior Superintendent of Police Shri Ripunjoy Kakati, APS, was also present. Detailed discussions were held on departmental responsibilities, with instructions for each department to submit an action plan for the one-month programme.

Both the Council and the District Administration reaffirmed their commitment to coordinated planning and timely execution, expressing confidence that the collaborative effort will ensure the success of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan in honour of the Prime Minister’s silver jubilee of public life.
