Northeast Frontier Railway Construction Organisation Celebrates 80th Independence Day, 2026


 Guwahati, 16th August, 2026:

The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) Construction Organisation celebrated the 80th Independence Day of the nation with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm at the NFR Construction Complex, Maligaon on 15th August 2026.

The national flag was hoisted by Shri Ashish Bansal, General Manager, Northeast Frontier Railway (Construction), in the presence of senior officials of the Construction Organisation, railway employees and their family members. The celebration was marked by a strong spirit of patriotism, unity and national pride.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Ashish Bansal paid tribute to the freedom fighters and martyrs who made immense sacrifices for the country's independence. He recalled the sacrifices of Kanaklata Barua, Kushal Konwar and Maniram Dewan, whose patriotism continues to inspire generations.

He said that their vision of a strong, prosperous, self-reliant and united India reminds everyone that the best way to honour their legacy is through sincere service, integrity and excellence in all spheres of work.

Highlighting the role of the N.F. Railway Construction Organisation in nation-building, the General Manager said, for us in the NFR (Construction) Organization, nation building is not merely a responsibility, it is our mission. He emphasised that every railway line laid, every bridge erected, every tunnel excavated and every station constructed strengthens the nation's connectivity, accelerates economic growth and brings people closer together.

Shri Bansal further highlighted the strategic importance of the NFR Construction Organisation in strengthening railway connectivity across the Northeast. He said that the Organisation continues to play a pivotal role in the Government of India's Act East Policy, connecting the remotest regions of the country with the national railway network and opening new avenues of growth and development.

He called upon railway officials and employees to continue working with dedication, professionalism and a strong sense of responsibility towards the nation. He emphasised that the development of modern railway infrastructure in the Northeast is not only an infrastructure endeavour but also an important contribution towards inclusive growth, regional development and national integration.

The programme brought together railway officials, employees and their family members to celebrate the spirit of freedom and reaffirm their commitment to the values of unity, integrity, dedication and service to the nation.

The N.F. Railway Construction Organisation conveyed warm greetings to all on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day and reiterated its resolve to contribute towards building a stronger, more connected and prosperous India through excellence in railway infrastructure development.
