Special Trains being provided for stranded passengers


 Guwahati, 20th July, 2026:

Due to severe flooding in and around Simaluguri town in Sivasagar district under the Tinsukia Division of Northeast Frontier Railway, train services between the Simaluguri–Namtiali and Simaluguri–Selenghat sections have been suspended in the interest of passenger safety and operational requirements. As a result, several long-distance trains to and from Dibrugarh and Tinsukia have been diverted via the Rangiya–Rangapara–Dibrugarh route. Additionally, a number of local passenger trains and Express trains have been cancelled, while certain services have been short terminated or short originated. To assist passengers affected by these disruptions, it has been decided to operate special train services, the details of which are given below.

Accordingly, Train No. 05959 (Mariani - Dibrugarh) One Way Special, will depart from Mariani at 20:00 hrs on 20.07.26 to reach Dibrugarh at 15:00 hrs on the next day. The special train will have stoppages at every stations in this route.

Another Special train will operate between Rangiya – Mariani Jn. from 21.07.26 to 24.07.26. Train no. 05832 (Rangiya – Mariani Jn.) Special will depart from Rangiya at 07:20 hrs to reach Mariani Jn. at 17:00 hrs on the same day. In return direction, Train no. 05831 (Mariani Jn. - Rangiya) Special will depart from Mariani Jn. at 18:00 hours to reach Rangiya at 03:20 hrs on the next day. The train will have stoppages at Changsari, Kamakhya, Guwahati, Thakurkuchi, Digaru, Jagiroad, Chaparmukh, Kampur, Hojai, Lanka, Lumding, Diphu, Dimapur, Bokajan, Sarupathar, Furkating and Titabar during its both way journey. 

The operation of these special additional trains is expected to provide significant relief to stranded passengers.
