Community One NGO Organises Tree Plantation Drive in Haflong

Haflong, June 19: With the theme "Plant Trees, Save the Environment," Community One NGO organised a tree plantation drive on Thursday in the outskirts of Haflong town as part of its ongoing efforts to promote environmental conservation and sustainable development.

During the programme, members of the NGO planted several saplings in the Lower Haflong area with the objective of increasing green cover and encouraging community participation in environmental protection. The initiative also aimed to raise awareness among the public about the importance of preserving nature and maintaining ecological balance.

Speaking on the occasion, members of the organisation highlighted the crucial role of trees in combating climate change, preventing soil erosion, improving air quality, and ensuring a healthier environment for future generations. They urged residents, particularly the younger generation, to actively participate in tree plantation activities and take responsibility for protecting the environment.
