Awareness Meet, Plantation Drive Held at Fiangpui Higher Secondary School

 Haflong, June 2: As part of its ongoing Eco Living Plantation Drive, the Dima Hasao Press Club on Tuesday organised an awareness meeting, followed by a plantation programme and distribution of saplings at Fiangpui Higher Secondary School near Haflong.

The programme witnessed the participation of the District Commissioner of Dima Hasao, Gayatri Devidas Hyalinge,IAS, Chairman of the Maibang Municipal Board, Herojit Jidung, and President of the Dima Hasao Press Club, Swadeep Hasam, along with teachers, students and local residents.

Addressing the gathering, the speakers highlighted the importance of tree plantation and stressed the need to protect and preserve the environment for future generations. They emphasized that maintaining ecological balance is a collective responsibility and encouraged students to actively participate in environmental conservation initiatives.

Following the awareness session, the dignitaries, teachers and students planted saplings on the school campus and distributed saplings among participants to promote green practices and environmental awareness.

The programme forms part of the Dima Hasao Press Club's ongoing efforts to encourage sustainable living and strengthen community participation in environmental protection.
