Tight Security Arrangements in Place for Peaceful Elections in Dima Hasao
Haflong, April 1: In a strong push to ensure free, fair, and peaceful elections in Dima Hasao district, elaborate security arrangements have been put in place by the administration ahead of the polling day.
A total of 14 companies of security personnel have already arrived in Haflong and have been strategically deployed across sensitive and vulnerable areas of the district. The presence of security forces has significantly intensified in both urban and remote locations to instill confidence among voters.
As part of the security measures, regular patrolling is being conducted across the district. Security personnel are actively monitoring key routes and interior areas to maintain law and order. In addition, naka checking has been intensified at various entry and exit points to keep a strict vigil on the movement of suspicious elements and prevent any untoward incidents.
Officials informed that special attention is being given to identified sensitive polling stations, with adequate deployment planned to avoid any disruption during the voting process. Coordination between the district administration and security agencies is being closely maintained to respond swiftly to any situation.
