Haflong to Host 1st Dima Hasao Open Taekwondo Championship 2026

Haflong, April 23: The first-ever Dima Hasao Open Taekwondo Championship 2026 is set to be held at Lal Field in Haflong on April 27 and 28. 

The championship is being organized by the Dima Hasao Taekwondo Association with support from the District Sports Office.

Talking to this correspondent, Anuj Hagjer, General Secretary of the Dima Hasao Taekwondo Association, said that the event aims to promote martial arts and encourage young athletes from across the district and beyond to showcase their talent.

Participants from different regions are expected to take part in the two-day championship, which will feature various categories and competitive bouts. The organizers believe the event will not only boost sporting culture in the hill district but also provide a platform for aspiring taekwondo players to gain exposure.

Officials from the District Sports Office are also extending support to ensure the smooth conduct of the championship.
