Smartphones Distributed to Anganwadi Workers Under Poshan Abhiyan at Diyungbra
Haflong, February 21: In a move aimed at strengthening digital monitoring of child and maternal welfare schemes, the Department of Women and Child Development, District Social Welfare, Dima Hasao distributed 5G smartphones to Anganwadi workers under the Poshan Abhiyan at Diyungbra on Saturday.
The distribution programme was organised under the office of the Child Development Project Officer at Diyungbra block. Smartphones were formally handed over by CDPO T.H. Ranvir Singha in the presence of officials from the Social Welfare Department.
Addressing the gathering, CDPO Singha appreciated the dedication of Anganwadi workers in implementing government schemes related to maternal and child development. He urged them to make responsible and effective use of the devices to improve service delivery and ensure accurate reporting.
Altogether 109 Anganwadi workers from three sectors — Diyungbra, Umrangso and Dehangi — under Diyungbra block received the smartphones.
The devices have been provided to enable workers to install and use the POSHAN Tracker app. Through the app, they will be able to update details such as height and weight of children, digitize physical registers and maintain real-time data. Officials said this step will enhance transparency, streamline monitoring and reflect the field-level efforts of the workers more effectively.
