70TH ZONAL RAILWAY WEEK AWARDS CEREMONY HELD IN MALIGAON
Guwahati, 11 January, 2026: The 70th Zonal Railway Week Awards Ceremony was held at Rang Bhawan, Maligaon on 10th January, 2026, in the presence of Shri Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, General Manager, N. F. Railway. The ceremony was also attended by Principal Heads of Departments and other senior officers from Headquarters, who graced the occasion and congratulated the award recipients for their dedication and exemplary performance in their respective fields.
According to an official statement given by Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer, officers and staff from various departments of the five divisions and Headquarters of N. F. Railway have been conferred with the prestigious Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar (VRSP), 2025 in recognition of their outstanding service, professional excellence and significant contribution towards improving efficiency, safety and passenger services. A total of 49 awardees were honoured for their dedication and exemplary performance across diverse functional areas.
The recipients include 2 awardees each from the General Administration, Commercial, Medical and Signal & Telecommunication Departments, and 1 awardee each from the Personnel, Safety, Security and Stores Departments. These officials were recognised for their effective administrative support, customer-oriented services, healthcare delivery, technical expertise and contributions towards strengthening safety and operational systems of the Railways.
In addition, 7 awardees each from the Electrical and Operating Departments, 8 awardees from the Mechanical Department and the highest number of 15 awardees from the Civil Engineering Department received the honour. Their commendable efforts in traction and loco operations, train operations and traffic management, rolling stock maintenance, workshops, coaching depots, track maintenance and infrastructure development have played a vital role in enhancing the overall performance and reliability of Northeast Frontier Railway.
Coaching Depot Kamakhya has been honoured with the Best Coaching Depot Award for 2025 under the recent award winners of the Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar (VRSP), 2025, in recognition of its outstanding performance and excellence in coaching maintenance and services.
Addressing the gathering, the General Manager and senior officials lauded the awardees for their professionalism, teamwork and sustained efforts in enhancing safety, punctuality and passenger satisfaction across N. F. Railway. They reaffirmed NFR’s commitment to recognising merit and encouraging excellence among its workforce.
