NFR to Observe Vigilance Awareness Week with the Theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility”

Guwahati, 26th October: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) will observe Vigilance Awareness Week from 27th October to 2nd November, 2025 across all its Divisions, Workshops, and Construction field units. This year’s theme, “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility,” underscores the collective role of every citizen and employee in promoting transparency, integrity, and accountability. The observance follows the directives of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) and is part of a larger three-month campaign running from 18th August to 17th November, 2025, aimed at reinforcing preventive vigilance measures across the zone. The initiative seeks to strengthen the culture of honesty and ethical conduct at every level of railway functioning.

According to an official statement given by Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer, the observance will commence at the NFR Headquarters in Maligaon with the administration of the Integrity Pledge in front of the General Manager’s Office, followed by a street play (Nukkad Natak) to engage employees and the public in promoting ethical values and transparency. At the Headquarters of the Construction Organization, similar activities will be organized concurrently. Across the entire zone, all Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) will administer the integrity pledge in their respective divisions, ensuring the participation of railway employees from every department and level.

Throughout the week, a series of awareness programmes will be organized to inspire ethical conduct among railway staff and the general public. Interactive sessions and seminars on vigilance-related topics will be conducted on 28th October at Rangiya Division. On 29th October, essay writing, drawing, and painting competitions will be held at Railway Higher Secondary School, Netaji Vidyapeeth Railway Higher Secondary School, and Kendriya Vidyalaya, Maligaon, focusing on the central theme. The Zonal Railway Training Institute (ZRTI), Alipurduar, will also host an essay competition on the same day. On 30th October, a Nukkad Natak promoting anti-corruption messages will be staged at the New Guwahati Diesel Loco Shed. The week’s observance will conclude with a prize distribution ceremony on 31st October in the GM/Vigilance Conference Hall at Headquarters, where the best short films and Nukkad Natak presentations will be felicitated.

These initiatives reflect NFR’s unwavering commitment to fostering a culture of honesty, transparency, and good governance. Reaffirming its dedication to eradicating corruption from all spheres of its activities, NFR has appealed to all its employees, stakeholders, and the public to participate wholeheartedly in this movement of collective responsibility and moral integrity—contributing to nation-building through ethical conduct and vigilance in everyday life.
