Gauhati University’s NSS Volunteers Honoured with National Award at Rashtrapati Bhawan

 

 Guwahati, October 6: In a proud moment for Assam and Gauhati University, Miss Doli Choudhury, NSS Volunteer from Gauhati University Campus, and Dr. Bhuban Ch. Chutia, NSS Programme Officer of Nowgong College (Autonomous), were conferred with the prestigious My Bharat National Service Scheme (NSS) Award 2022–23 by the Hon’ble President of India at Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi, today.

Both awardees, representing the Gauhati University NSS Cell, have been recognised for their outstanding contributions to community and social service across diverse sectors. Their remarkable dedication and commitment towards uplifting communities and strengthening NSS activities have brought immense pride to their respective institutions and to the university as a whole.

The achievements of Miss Choudhury and Dr. Chutia are the result of dedicated efforts under the guidance of Dr. Ranjan Kr. Kakati, Director of Students’ Welfare and Programme Coordinator, Gauhati University NSS Cell & Regional Directorate, NSS (NER). Their work exemplifies the spirit of service and leadership fostered by the NSS movement.

Extending their heartfelt congratulations, Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta, Vice-Chancellor of Gauhati University, Prof. Utpal Sarma, Registrar, and Dr. Ranjan Kr. Kakati, DSW, lauded the awardees for bringing glory not only to the university but also to the state of Assam.
