NFR Holds Safai Mitra Suraksha Shivir Across Divisions
Guwahati, 19 September, 25: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) organized a series of "Safai Mitra Suraksha Shivir" on September 18, 2025, across various stations, hospitals, health units, and railway colonies. The program was aimed at improving the health, safety, and welfare of Safai Mitras, both departmental and contractual.
According to an official statement given by Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer of NFR, the initiatives included medical camps, health check-ups, health education, counselling sessions, and distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE). Awareness programmes were also held to guide Safai Mitras on hygiene and workplace safety. Protective items such as gloves, masks, and safety jackets were distributed, along with live demonstrations on their correct use and storage.
At Guwahati, a health camp was organized at the Health Unit where ACM/GHus personally distributed PPE kits to Safai Mitras. Similar camps were conducted at Badarpur, Lumding, Dibrugarh Town, Hojai, Naharlagun, Rangiya, Dimapur, Maibang, and Maligaon Railway Colony. In Maligaon and Dibrugarh, health check-ups were held along with education and counselling sessions. At Firoj Shah Colony, Malda Town, a separate health camp was arranged for colony residents.
Alongside the safety camps, Swachhata Pledge and "Swasth Nari Sashakta Parivar Abhiyan" were also observed at Maibang and Dimapur with the active participation of railway staff from medical, electrical, engineering, and traffic departments.
