Rajya Puraskar, also known as the Governor’s Award, is the highest
state-level recognition for Scouts, Guides, Rovers and Rangers. In Railway
associations, it is conferred by the Chief Patron and General Manager of the
respective Zonal Railway. Candidates earn the award after obtaining the
required proficiency badges and successfully completing a five day testing
camp, where qualified examiners assess their knowledge and skills. This
achievement also enables eligible members to prepare for the national level
President’s Award testing camp.
Bharat Scouts and Guides of NFR has also earned distinction
through several national awards and dedicated community service. This year, 24
Scouts, Guides, Rovers and Rangers received the prestigious Rashtrapati Awards,
while 94 Cubs and Bulbuls received the Golden Arrow Award. During Ambubachi
Mela 2026, 225 members rendered round-the-clock assistance to pilgrims at
Kamakhya Dham. Volunteers also extended flood reliefs to affected families in
Sivasagar and Jorhat districts with support from NFRWWO. Their contributions
further included cleanliness drives, environmental awareness campaigns,
skill-development programmes, road-safety street plays, drinking-water
distribution and crowd management at railway stations.
The Rajya Puraskar rally highlighted the commitment of NFR Bharat
Scouts and Guides towards discipline, leadership, teamwork and community
service. By recognising the achievements of its young members, NFR continues to
encourage responsible citizenship and the spirit of voluntary service,
inspiring them to contribute meaningfully to the Railways and society.
