Grand Felicitation for NEET, NIT & APSC Achievers and Launch of BPL Scholarship Scheme Held in Haflong

 Haflong, September 12: A grand felicitation ceremony honoring successful candidates of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), National Institutes of Technology (NIT), and Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) examinations took place at the District Library Auditorium in Haflong on Saturday. The event also marked the official launch of a major scholarship scheme dedicated to students from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families across Dima Hasao.

​Organized by the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council (DHAC), the initiative aimed to recognize and reward the academic excellence of the district's youth.

​Key Highlights & Financial Assistance

​Competitive Exam Achievers: 25 NEET qualifiers and 3 successful NIT candidates were felicitated and presented with a financial grant of ₹20,000 each.

​APSC Officers Honored: Successful APSC candidates recently appointed to various government departments were formally recognized for their achievement.

​BPL Scholarship Breakdown: Financial support was extended to BPL students based on their academic performance:

​1st Division: ₹20,000

​2nd Division: ₹15,000

​3rd Division: ₹10,000

​Addressing the gathering, DHAC Chief Executive Member (CEM) Debolal Gorlosa highlighted that the Council allocates ₹4 to ₹5 crore annually from its internal revenue to support underprivileged students. He urged the new medical qualifiers to return and serve in Dima Hasao after completing their studies to inspire future generations.

​The event was attended by DHAC Chairman Mohet Hojai, Executive Member Probita Johari, DHAC Secretary Rebecca Changsan, alongside other dignitaries, students, and proud families.
