Swagat Hospitals Organises Voluntary Blood Donation Camp in Collaboration with Department of Zoology, Cotton University
Guwahati, 19th August: A Voluntary Blood Donation Camp was organised today by the Swagat Blood Centre, Swagat Endolaparoscopic Surgical Research Institute, a unit of Swagat Hospitals Pvt. Ltd., in collaboration with the Department of Zoology, Cotton University.
The camp, held at the Zoology department premises of Cotton University, witnessed enthusiastic participation from the university community, with a total of over 15 units of blood collected during the drive.
A significant highlight of the camp was the participation of Prof. Ramesh Chandra Deka, Vice-Chancellor of Cotton University, who was the first blood donor to come forward at the camp. His participation set an inspiring example for the faculty members, students and other members of the university community.
The camp was supported and facilitated by Dr. Arup Chandra Hazarika, Head of the Department of Zoology and Dean, Life Sciences, Cotton University, whose cooperation and support played an important role in organising the blood donation drive at the department premises.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Subhash Khanna, CMD, Swagat Super Specialty Hospital & Surgical Institute, expressed his gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor, the Department of Zoology, Faculty of Cotton University and all the donors for their valuable support. “Voluntary blood donation is one of the simplest yet most meaningful ways in which we can contribute to saving lives. We are deeply grateful to Prof. Ramesh Chandra Deka, Vice-Chancellor of Cotton University, for leading by example and being the first to come forward as a donor. I would also like to sincerely thank Dr. Arup Chandra Hazarika and the Department of Zoology for their support in organising this important initiative. The participation of the university community is truly encouraging.”
