Bangali Parishad Donates ₹60,500 to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for Flood Victims
Haflong, August 20: The Dima Hasao District Committee of Bangali Parishad Assam on Thursday donated ₹60,500 to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support people affected by the devastating floods in different parts of Assam.
The amount was formally handed over to District Commissioner of Dima Hasao, Smt. Gayatri Devidas Hyalinge, who received the contribution on behalf of the relief fund.
Following the donation, members of the Bangali Parishad Assam held an interaction with the District Commissioner. Smt. Hyalinge appreciated the gesture of the organisation and lauded the committee for extending solidarity and support to flood-affected people across the state.
During the interaction, several important issues concerning the welfare and development of Dima Hasao were also discussed. The District Commissioner gave the delegation a patient hearing and emphasised the need for collective efforts for the benefit of all communities in the district.
She assured the delegation that the district administration would extend all possible assistance and cooperation towards initiatives aimed at promoting peace, harmony and development in Dima Hasao. She expressed hope that with the cooperation of all sections of society, Dima Hasao could further emerge as a peaceful and progressive district.
Rajat Nath, President of Bangali Parishad Assam, Dima Hasao District Committee, said that it was a matter of great satisfaction and privilege for the organisation to contribute towards helping people in distress.
He appreciated all members of the district committee for their generous and spontaneous support in raising the contribution and said that the initiative reflected the organisation’s commitment to standing with people during difficult times.
