Katihar-Amritsar-Katihar Special Train Services Extended for Additional Five Trips to Meet Passenger Demand
Guwahati, 28th July, 2026:
In order to cater to the continued increase in passenger demand and to facilitate convenient travel and clear the extra rush, Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has decided to extend the services of the 05736/05735 Katihar-Amritsar-Katihar Special Train for five additional trips in each direction. The train will continue to operate with its existing composition, timings, stoppages and maintenance schedule, thereby ensuring uninterrupted connectivity for passengers travelling between Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and other important stations en-route.
Train No. 05736 (Katihar-Amritsar) Special will depart from Katihar at 21:00 hrs every Wednesday from 5th August to 2nd September, 2026, while Train No. 05735 (Amritsar-Katihar) Special will depart from Amritsar at 13:25, every Friday from 7th August to 4th September, 2026, to reach their respective destinations.
NFR remains committed towards enhancing passenger convenience by
introducing and extending special train services whenever required. Such initiatives
not only help in ease of congestions on regular trains but also ensure
smoother, safer and more comfortable travel for passengers across the region.
Passengers are advised to verify the detailed schedule and stoppages through
the IRCTC & NTES website or other official social media platforms of NFR
before commencing their journey.
