In its continued commitment towards efficient freight operations and timely transportation of essential commodities, Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has achieved a significant milestone in freight loading during May 2026. NFR recorded a total freight loading of 1.033 million tonnes (MT) during the month.
Several key commodities registered remarkable growth during May 2026, cement loading witnessed an exceptional rise of 231.3%, while dolomite loading increased by 31.1% over the same period last year. Petroleum Oil Lubricant loading also showed healthy growth of 12.5%. Additionally, loading under the “Others” category, bamboo loading recorded a substantial increase of 142.9%, reflecting enhanced movement of construction-related and allied materials across the region.
The steady increase in freight loading highlights the growing economic and industrial activities across the Northeast and adjoining areas. This sustained growth has not only strengthened the regional supply chain network but has also contributed significantly to the revenue earnings of Northeast Frontier Railway.
NFR continues to focus on technological advancements, operational efficiency and customer-centric freight services to ensure reliable transportation and sustained growth in freight movement in the coming months.
