National Immunization Day (NID) to be observed in Kamrup Metropolitan District on 28 June

Guwahati, 27 June 2026: Along with the rest of Assam, National Immunization Day (NID) will be observed in Kamrup Metropolitan District on 28 June 2026 (Sunday). Under this programme, all children aged 0–5 years in the district will be administered the Polio Vaccine.

A total of 199,591 children in age group of 0–5 years have been targeted under this programme. 

To ensure smooth implementation total 860 Polio Booths have been established across the district, comprising 662 General Booths, 25 Difficult Booths, 72 Institutional Booths, and 64 Transit Booths. In addition, 37 Mobile Teams have been deployed to ensure that no eligible child is left out of the immunization drive.

For the successful implementation of the programme, total 51 Medical Officers, 3,222 Booth Workers and 172 Booth Supervisors have been engaged across the district.

This three-day immunization drive will be conducted from 28 to 30 June 2026. On 28 June, polio vaccine will be administered at all designated Polio Booths in the district. Children who are unable to visit the booths or miss vaccination on the first day will be covered through house-to-house visits by health workers on 29 and 30 June.

The District-level inaugural programme of National Immunization Day will be held at 9:30 AM on 28 June 2026 at Satgaon Urban State Ayushman Arogya Mandir.
