Cleanliness Drive Conducted at Songpijang Under 'Clean Haflong, Green Haflong' Initiative

 Haflong, June 29: As part of the ongoing 'Beautiful Haflong' campaign, the Haflong Municipal Board (HMB), in collaboration with the Sompijang Women Association, organized a cleanliness drive at the Sompijang area of Haflong on Friday morning. The programme was held under the theme "Clean Haflong, Green Haflong" with the slogan "Save Nature, Save the Future."

The initiative aimed to promote cleanliness and enhance the beauty of Haflong, the only hill station in Assam, with the broader goal of making the town more attractive to tourists. Organizers emphasized that maintaining a clean and green environment is essential for preserving Haflong's natural charm and supporting sustainable tourism.

The drive also sought to create awareness among residents, particularly traders and business owners, about the importance of maintaining hygiene, keeping their surroundings clean, and actively contributing to the town's cleanliness efforts.

A large number of volunteers, including employees of the Haflong Municipal Board, members of the Songpijang Women Association, and local women, enthusiastically participated in the campaign by cleaning roadsides and public spaces.

The organizers appealed to all citizens to make cleanliness a daily habit and work together to keep Haflong clean, green, and environmentally sustainable.
