Solar Panel Inaugurated at N.P.M.E High School; HSLC Achievers Felicitated
Guwahati, April 13: The inauguration of a solar panel donated by the Rotary Club of Guwahati (West) was held yesterday along with a felicitation programme for teachers and students who successfully passed the HSLC Examination 2026.
The programme was chaired by Dr. Kameshwar Singh Elongbam and attended by Krishna Baruah, Rotarian Dr. Bibhash Chandra Das Purkayastha, former Principal of Pandu College, Rotarian Sri Mahesh Santani, along with several other distinguished Rotarians. Also present were former Headmistress of N.P.M.E High School Smt. Binapani Deka and Smt. Rina Deka, current Headmaster Sri Dhritiman Bhattacharjee, teachers, students, and members of the Alumni Association of N.P.M.E High School.
Addressing the gathering, the District Governor highlighted the strength and social responsibilities of the Rotary Club, emphasizing its continued support for needy institutions and individuals. He expressed his happiness over the school’s HSLC results, thanked the teachers for their efforts, and advised students to be attentive, punctual, and dedicated towards self-development and becoming responsible citizens.
The Rotary Club President welcomed the distinguished guests and honoured them with a “Gamocha.” She elaborated on the various contributions made by the club to the school over time, including a water purifier, projector machine, school building partition, and distribution of uniforms, shoes, bags, pens, and pencils. She also encouraged students to excel academically and become self-dependent individuals.
Speaking on the occasion, Headmaster Sri Dhritiman Bhattacharjee explained the purpose of the meeting and expressed gratitude to the Rotary Club members for their continuous support towards the school’s development. He also sought continued cooperation and blessings from all stakeholders. Dr. Bibhash Chandra Das Purkayastha, advisor to the school management committee, also addressed the gathering and thanked the Rotary members for their contributions. He further appreciated the efforts of teachers, students, and the Alumni Association in improving the school’s results and supporting the institution.
The Gayatri Memorial Fund, established in memory of Late Gayatri Das Purkayastha, a former teacher of the school, felicitated HSLC passed students with ‘Fulam Gamocha’ and rewarded some teachers for their effective efforts in achieving commendable results, while encouraging continued success in the future.
Former Headmistress Smt. Rina Deka was also honoured with a memento and a ‘Fulam Gamocha’ by the Alumni Association in recognition of her significant contribution to strengthening the academic environment of the school. As a whole the
programme was successful and every Rotarian, ex Headmistress, Present
Headmaster, teachers, Alumni Association members urges the school
administration to make the school’s result in more result oriented.
