Guwahati, 01st April, 2026:
The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) successfully hosted and concluded the 31st Annual National Conference of the Railway Association of ISA (RAISA), along with the NFR Zonal Medical Conference, on 28th March 2026 at Luitgarh Railway Officers Club, Nambari. The two-day event brought together eminent medical professionals from across Indian Railways, centred on the theme “Evidence Based Practice.”
The conference was inaugurated by Director General of Railway Health Services, Dr. Jagdish Chandra, who emphasized the importance of standardized, data-driven medical protocols in improving healthcare delivery for railway employees and passengers. The event was also graced by the General Manager of N. F. Railway, Shri Chetan Kumar Shrivastava and the Principal Chief Medical Director of N. F. Railway, Dr. Swapna Boro Daimari, underscoring NFR’s commitment to advancing medical excellence.
Approximately 150 doctors from various railway zones and leading medical institutions participated actively in the conference. The sessions, coordinated by Scientific Secretary Dr. Somnath Saha, focused on translating clinical research into practical healthcare applications. The event also featured notable contributions from the Railway Society of Anaesthesiologists, setting new benchmarks in perioperative care and pain management.
The event was efficiently organized under the leadership of the Medical Director of Central Hospital, Maligaon, Dr. B.P. Deka, along with a dedicated team from the hospital. Their efforts provided a seamless platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration among medical professionals.
Concluding the conference, Dr. Pijush Sarkar, of Central Hospital, Maligaon expressed gratitude to all participants and emphasized that the insights and knowledge shared during the event will significantly contribute to improving healthcare services across Indian Railways. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks, marking the successful completion of this significant national medical conference.
