Student Bodies Visit Bereaved Family of Seiminhao Lhangum at Nomjang
Mahur, February 25: Representatives of the Dimasa Students’ Union, All Dimasa Students’ Union, Jadikhe Naisho Hoshom and Kuki Students’ Organisation, Assam on Tuesday jointly visited Nomjang village in Mahur to offer condolences to the family of Late Seiminhao Lhangum.
The delegation met the bereaved family and expressed solidarity during this difficult time. Members also visited the spot where Seiminhao Lhangum was allegedly murdered and held a brief condolence service in his memory.
Leaders representing both the Kuki and Dimasa communities appealed to the people of Dima Hasao, particularly the youth, to stay away from drugs and other intoxicating substances. They stressed that substance abuse is posing a serious threat to society and called for collective efforts to protect young people from its harmful impact.
The organisations further demanded that those responsible for the crime be identified and punished strictly in accordance with the law.
The joint visit was marked by a message of unity and a shared resolve to maintain peace and communal harmony in the district.
