Gauhati University Shines at All India Inter-University Woodball Championship

 

Guwahati 28th February, 2026: Gauhati University has brought pride to Assam with an outstanding performance at the AIU All India Inter-University Woodball Tournament held at Madhyanchal Professional University, Bhopal, from 22nd to 27th February. Demonstrating exceptional skill and determination, the university’s athletes secured top honours in both singles and doubles categories.

Dimpy Hazarika emerged as a champion by winning the gold medal in the Women’s Singles event, showcasing remarkable precision and composure throughout the tournament. In the Women’s Doubles category, the dynamic duo of Sangeeta Sharma and Hiya Chetia also clinched the gold medal, adding another glorious achievement to the university’s success.

The tournament witnessed the participation of 59 universities from across the country, making the competition highly challenging and prestigious. Despite the tough competition, the athletes from Guwahati University stood out with their dedication and sportsmanship.
