Women’s Conclave 2025 Empowers Nari Shakti for Nation Building


 

Guwahati, Nov 22: The Women’s Conclave 2025 was held today at the Phanidhar Datta Seminar Hall, Gauhati University, under the theme “Vikshit Bharat @2047 – Strengthening Nari Shakti for National Development and Leadership.” The event was organised by the Council for Teacher Education Foundation (CTEF), Assam Chapter, under the Vikshit Bharat Abhiyan of the Government of Assam, in collaboration with the Department of Education, Gauhati University, Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal, UAP, and Rashtriya Sevika Samiti, UAP. The programme was powered by Antariksh Information Technology.


The conclave focused on leadership, innovation, and nation building.The programme was presided over by Prof. Nilima Bhagabati, Chairperson of CTEF, who delivered the welcome speech. She spoke about the aims and objectives of the conclave and highlighted that the Amrit Kal of the nation stands on four main pillars—youth power, women power, farmers, and the people. She said that a nation can progress only when women are empowered, as they form the backbone of every home and society. She also stressed on promoting women in defence, science, technology, innovation, administration, and policy making.


The event was divided into four technical sessions. The first technical session, chaired by Prof. Pranayee Datta, former professor of GU, focused on women in entrepreneurship, science, technology, and innovation. The resource persons were Dr. Swapnali Hazarika, Senior Scientist, CSIR-NEIST Jorhat, and Bhargav Bhagawati, entrepreneur. Mr. Bhagawati spoke about women’s participation in the aquaculture industry, ornamental fish farming, pearl farming, RAS and biofloc systems. Dr. Hazarika delivered an impactful talk on strengthening Nari Shakti through science and technology, various central government schemes for women, and the challenges faced by women in these fields.
The second technical session was chaired by Prof. Padmini Bhuyan. The resource persons were Smt. Krishna Baruah, Former Commissioner of Assam, and Ms. Indranee Baruah, IPS, Central Western Range. They spoke about women in administration, policy making, and economic empowerment, and encouraged young women to take up leadership roles in public service.



The remaining two technical sessions highlighted women in defence and women entrepreneurship. Resource persons discussed the growing role of women in the armed forces and the need to support women-led businesses for economic growth. More than 100 students from seven different colleges and universities, including Gauhati University, Dispur College, and B. Baruah College, took part in the conclave. Stalls showcasing various handmade products were also set up by participants, giving them an opportunity to display their skills and creativity.


The Women’s Conclave 2025 was a great success and offered valuable insights into women empowerment. The event inspired students and participants to work towards a stronger and more developed nation by supporting and uplifting Nari Shakti.
