Release of 21st Instalment of PM–KISAN Samman Nidhi Organized by KVK Dima Hasao, Haflong
Haflong November 21: The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Dima Hasao, in collaboration with the District Agriculture Office, Dima Hasao, successfully organized a live streaming programme for the release of the 21st instalment of the PM–KISAN Samman Nidhi on 19 November 2025 at the KVK Conference Hall, Haflong.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from the farming community, with over 100 farmers and farm women attending.
The programme was honored by the presence of the Chief Guest, Monjit Naiding, Executive Member, Dima Hasao Autonomous Council. Other distinguished guests included Mrs. L. Nampui, District Nodal Officer, PM–KISAN, along with Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officers (SDAOs) and Somendra Longmailai, Chief Trustee of Keshav Smarak Nyas, Haflong.
Dr. Ardhendu Chakraborty, Senior Scientist & Head of KVK Dima Hasao, delivered the welcome address emphasizing the importance of the PM–KISAN scheme in providing income security to farmers and promoting inclusive agricultural development. This was followed by a detailed technical briefing conducted by the District Nodal Officer, PM–KISAN, covering district-level implementation progress, Aadhaar-linked Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), beneficiary authentication, and e-KYC status, highlighting digital governance and transparency.
An input distribution programme was also held, benefiting more than 100 farmers from agriculture and allied sectors. Inputs such as biofertilizers, high-quality fruit and vegetable saplings, and livestock feed were provided to promote climate-resilient farming practices and enhance integrated livelihoods.
In his address, the Chief Guest encouraged farmers to strengthen their associations with scientific institutions like KVK and district-level departments to gain access to improved technologies, expert advisory services, and flagship government schemes. He stressed the adoption of modern agricultural practices to ensure sustainable growth in agriculture and allied sectors.
The gathering also witnessed the live streaming of the national event, where the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, officially released the 21st instalment of PM–KISAN through Direct Benefit Transfer.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Parkey Gogoi, Subject Matter Specialist (Horticulture), and was anchored by Kabin Medhi, Subject Matter Specialist (Fisheries).
