Haflong 3 November: The Dima Hasao District Commissioner Munindranath Ngatey held a press conference today around 4 PM on Monday, announcing that the District Administration will observe the death anniversary of the legendary music maestro and Bharat Ratna awardee, Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, on November 5, 2025, 3 Pm at Haflong Lal field .
This solemn occasion will bring together a large gathering of admirers, students, and cultural representatives to pay tribute to the unparalleled contributions of Dr. Hazarika to Indian music, literature, and social harmony.
The event will be graced by Debolal Gorlosa, Chief Executive Member, NCHAC, along with the representatives of all the Apex bodies will attend as Guests of Honour.
A total of around 1700 participants are expected to join the commemoration.
All necessary arrangements have been made in coordination with the concerned departments to ensure the smooth and dignified conduct of the programme. The day’s events will include floral tributes, a chorus performance, and a human chain of several participants performing the iconic song “Manuhe Manuhor Babe”, reflecting Dr. Hazarika’s enduring legacy as the “Bard of the Brahmaputra.”
Through this collective tribute, the District Administration aims to celebrate Dr. Bhupen Hazarika’s vision of unity, brotherhood, and cultural identity, which continues to inspire generations across Assam and beyond.
