Guwahati, 05th October, 2025: Train operations across parts of North Bengal under the Alipurduar Division have been severely affected following heavy rainfall and waterlogging over railway tracks at several locations. As a result, in an official statement given by Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced the diversion, cancellation, and short termination of several trains to ensure passenger safety.
Diversion of trains:
Train No. 13149 (Sealdah - Alipurduar Jn.) Kanchankanya Express, which commenced its journey on 4th October, 2025, will be diverted.Train No. 15483 (Alipurduar Jn. - Delhi) Sikkim Mahananda Express, commencing its journey on 5th October, 2025, will also be diverted.
Similarly, Train No. 19306 (Kamakhya - Dr. Ambedkar Nagar) Express, starting on 5th October, 2025, will be diverted as well.
Cancellation of trains on 05th October, 2025:
The following trains stand cancelled—Train No. 15777/15778 (New Jalpaiguri – Alipurduar Jn. - New Jalpaiguri) Tourist Special, Train No. 75742 (Dhubri - Siliguri Jn.) DEMU, and Train No. 15467 (Siliguri Jn. - Bamanhat) Express.Short Termination of trains:
Train No. 15768 (Alipurduar Jn. – Siliguri Jn.) Intercity Express of 05th October, 2025 will be short terminated at Binnaguri.Train No. 75741 (Siliguri Jn. - Dhubri) DEMU of 05th October, 2025 will be short terminated at Gulma.
Railway authorities have urged passengers to check updated schedules before travel and expressed regret for the inconvenience caused due to unavoidable weather conditions.
