Oindrilla Das Shines in Solo Bharatnatyam Recital “Nritya Sandhya” at Madhabdeva Auditorium
Guwahati, 20 October: The stage of Sri Sri Madhabdeva International Auditorium came alive with rhythm, grace, and devotion as young Bharatnatyam dancer Oindrilla Das, a student of Manjary Dance Academy, presented her solo Bharatnatyam recital titled “Nritya Sandhya.” The evening stood as a vibrant celebration of classical artistry, featuring live musical accompaniment and the timeless elegance of Bharatnatyam.
The performance was choreographed and curated by acclaimed Bharatnatyam exponent Vaibhav Arekar, under whose artistic direction the recital unfolded with depth and precision. The live orchestra added a soulful dimension to the presentation, with Kartik Hebbar on vocals from Bangalore, Ruta Gokhale on Nattuvangam from Mumbai, Shankar Narayanswamy on mridangam from Kolkata, and Anand Jayram on violin from Kerala. Their synchronized artistry created a mesmerizing musical tapestry that perfectly complemented Oindrilla’s expressive movements.
The event was graced by some of the most eminent figures of Indian classical dance, including Padma Vibhushan Jatin Goswami, Padma Shri Ghanakanta Bora Borbayan, Ranjumoni Saikia, Anita Sarma, and Anjanamoyee Saikia, among others. All the distinguished gurus were felicitated during the evening, and each extended their blessings to the young dancer for a bright and successful future.
Oindrilla’s performance received rave reviews from the audience, who were captivated by her versatility—ranging from pure movement (nritta) to expressive storytelling (abhinaya). Her confident stage presence and command over the full repertoire of Bharatnatyam reflected her deep dedication and rigorous training.A disciple of Smt Tatini Das and Sri Vaibhav Arekar, Oindrilla is the daughter of Dr. Manas Das and Tatini Das, and a proud student of Delhi Public School, Guwahati. “Nritya Sandhya” not only showcased her technical brilliance but also marked a promising milestone in her journey as an emerging artist in the realm of Indian classical dance.
