NFR Officials Pay Heartfelt Tribute to Late Music Legend Zubeen Garg


 

Guwahati, 8th October 2025: Senior officials from the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) Headquarters, Maligaon, visited the residence of the late singer, composer, and cultural icon of Assam, Zubeen Garg, at Kahilipara, Guwahati, on 8th October 2025 to offer their condolences and pay tribute on behalf of General Manager Shri Chetan Kumar Shrivastava.

According to an official statement issued by Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer of NFR, the officials visited Zubeen Garg’s residence in the evening and offered floral tributes to the departed artist. They expressed deep sorrow over the untimely demise of the legendary musician, whose immense contributions enriched Assamese music, culture, and the broader Indian musical heritage.

During the visit, the NFR delegation met his wife, Smt. Garima Saikia Garg, and spent time with her, expressing their heartfelt sympathies and offering moral support to the grieving family during this difficult time. As a gesture of respect and remembrance, a memento was also presented to the family on behalf of NFR.

The passing of Zubeen Garg has created a profound void in the cultural and artistic landscape of Assam and the Northeast.
