NFR Celebrates Rashtriya Ekta Diwas with Enthusiasm, Honours the Legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel

 

Guwahati, 31 October: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) celebrated the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, observed across the nation as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day), with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at its headquarters in Maligaon. The celebration was marked by a series of events aimed at promoting unity, integrity, and the spirit of nation-building — ideals that the Iron Man of India stood for.

The central programme was held at the N.F. Railway Headquarters complex, where Shri Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, General Manager, N.F. Railway, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Senior officers, staff members, and railway employees gathered in large numbers to commemorate the day. The event commenced with the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge, administered by the General Manager, reaffirming the collective commitment of the NFR fraternity towards national unity, integrity, and security.

Simultaneously, the occasion was also observed at the General Manager (Construction)’s Office, where Shri Arun Kumar Chaudhary, General Manager, N.F. Railway (Construction), led the celebrations. Officers and employees actively participated in the pledge ceremony and other programmes organized to mark the day.

Adding vibrancy to the celebration, a “Run for Unity” was organized, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers, staff, and railway employees across all departments. The run symbolized solidarity and strength — reflecting Sardar Patel’s vision of a united India. Participants carried placards and banners promoting the message of harmony and national integration.

The event was also observed in all five divisions of N.F. Railway, where similar programmes were organized to honour the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The celebrations across divisions echoed the same spirit of togetherness and dedication to the nation.

Speaking on the occasion, General Manager Shri Shrivastava highlighted the extraordinary contribution of Sardar Patel in uniting the princely states and laying the foundation of a strong and integrated India. He urged everyone to emulate Patel’s ideals of unity, discipline, and selfless service for the progress of the nation.

The day’s events concluded with a renewed sense of pride and patriotism, as N.F. Railway reaffirmed its commitment to uphold the values of unity and integrity that continue to define India’s strength and diversity.
