NFR Observes “Swachhata Hi Seva” with Green & Clean Drives Across Divisions
Guwahati, 23rd September, 2025: As part of the nationwide “Swachhata Hi Seva” initiative, Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) carried out extensive plantation and cleanliness drives across all five of its divisions. The activities took place at railway stations, offices, hospitals, workshops and colonies, witnessing spirited participation from railway officials and dedicated Safai Mitras.
According to an official statement given by Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer, the plantation drive was held under the theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, symbolising both a tribute to motherhood and a commitment to environmental preservation. This noble theme reflected NFR’s vision of building a cleaner, greener tomorrow and highlighted its pledge to leave a meaningful legacy for the people of the Northeast. The initiative embodied NFR’s harmony with nature while promoting social responsibility.
In parallel, large-scale cleanliness campaigns were conducted throughout railway colonies, stations and adjoining public areas. Safai Mitras joined hands with railway staff to clean premises, remove waste and encourage awareness on hygiene and the importance of maintaining litter-free surroundings. Beyond just improving cleanliness, the effort sought to inspire residents, passengers and local communities to embrace sustainable and eco-friendly practices in everyday life.
Through these initiatives, NFR reaffirmed its strong commitment to environmental balance, public health and collective participation. By aligning with the vision of Swachh Bharat, NFR continues to reinforce its role as a responsible public organisation dedicated to progress, sustainability and community well-being across the Northeast.
