Train services affected as Lines 1 and 2 remain suspended at New Harangajao

Haflong, August 11: Train services along the Lumding-Badarpur hill section continue to be affected as Lines 1 and 2 at New Harangajao (NHGJ) station remain suspended due to track settlement, according to a bulletin issued by the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) on Tuesday.

The NFR said Line 1 was suspended from noon on July 20, while Line 2 was suspended from 11.05 pm on July 23. The condition of Line 3 is also being closely monitored, and all trains are presently being operated through the third line.

In view of passenger safety, movement of passenger-carrying trains has been avoided between 7 pm and 5 am. As a result, several trains have either been cancelled, rescheduled or regulated en route.

The GHY-DLCR Express and DLCR-GHY Express, along with the GHY-SCL and SCL-GHY Express, have been cancelled between their respective originating and terminating stations on specified dates. The SCL-NTSK and NTSK-SCL Express services have also remained cancelled between SCL and NTSK.

Several other services have been rescheduled. The NNGE-AGTL Express, for instance, has been shifted from its scheduled departure at 5 pm to 10.30 pm, while the AGTL-NNGE Express has been rescheduled from 9.30 pm to 11.30 pm. The GHY-SANG Express has also been rescheduled from 7 pm to 11.30 pm.

The RNY-SCL Express has been rescheduled from 7 pm to 11.30 pm, while the SCL-RNY Express has been shifted from 11 pm to 5 am. Other long-distance services, including the Tejas Express and several trains connecting Silchar, Agartala and other destinations, have also been subjected to rescheduling or en-route regulation.

The railway authorities said the measures were being taken in the interest of passenger safety and convenience while the track condition at New Harangajao continues to be monitored.
