Guwahati, 9th July, 2026:
In a significant step
towards enhancing passenger comfort, safety and overall travel experience, Indian
Railway is introducing modern Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches in place of the
existing conventional ICF coaches for Train No. 01665/01666 (Rani Kamalapati –
Agartala – Rani Kamalapati) Special Express.
Train No. 01665 (Rani
Kamalapati – Agartala) Special Express will commence operation with the new LHB
rake from 9th July, 2026,
departing from Rani Kamalapati. Similarly, Train No. 01666 (Agartala – Rani
Kamalapati) Special Express will operate with the new LHB rake from 12th July, 2026, departing
from Agartala.
The introduction of modern
LHB coaches marks another milestone in the modernization initiatives of Indian
Railways. Designed with advanced technology, these coaches offer enhanced
safety through their anti-telescopic design, which significantly reduces the
risk of coaches climbing over one another during collisions. Passengers will
also enjoy a more comfortable journey due to superior suspension systems that
provide a smoother and more stable ride. In addition, the coaches are capable
of operating at higher speeds and feature improved interiors, ensuring a safer,
more efficient and pleasant travel experience.
The newly introduced LHB
rake will consist of 22 coaches,
providing adequate accommodation across various travel classes to meet the
diverse needs of passengers.
Indian Railway remains
committed to continuously upgrading its passenger services through the adoption
of modern technology, improved amenities and enhanced operational efficiency,
in line with the vision to provide a safe, comfortable and passenger-centric
railway network.
