Haflong, July 22: The 8th (253rd) Session of the 13th Dima Hasao Autonomous Council (DHAC) was held on Wednesday at the Council Assembly Hall in Haflong under the chairmanship of DHAC Chairman Mohet Hojai.
During the session, the 49th Amendment Bill, 2023 was placed before the House for discussion. Members deliberated on the provisions of the Bill as part of the Council's legislative proceedings.
A major highlight of the session was the unanimous election of Felming Rupsi Shylla, Member of Autonomous Council (MAC) from the Jatinga Constituency, as the Deputy Chairman of the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council.
Chairman Mohet Hojai congratulated Shylla on his unanimous election and expressed confidence that he would discharge his responsibilities with dedication, sincerity, and integrity. He wished the newly elected Deputy Chairman every success in serving the Council and the people of Dima Hasao.
The session concluded with members reaffirming their commitment to strengthening the functioning of the Autonomous Council and ensuring effective governance in the district.
