Mock Drill on CBRN Emergency Conducted at Dalmia Cement Industry, Umrangso


 Haflong, March 17: A Level-1 mock exercise on Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) emergency preparedness was successfully conducted at the Dalmia Cement Industry in Umrangso under Dima Hasao district.

The exercise was carried out by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) 1st Battalion and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in collaboration with the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Dima Hasao.

The drill was conducted under the leadership of Prithvi Singh, Inspector and Commander of 1st Battalion NDRF, along with Vivek Sharma. During the simulation, teams demonstrated specialized safety measures and emergency response protocols to handle possible industrial hazards.
More than 200 employees of the Dalmia Cement industry actively participated in the drill to strengthen preparedness for any emergency situation within the industrial premises.

Officials stated that the coordination and support extended by the Dalmia Cement authorities during the exercise were commendable, reflecting effective teamwork with the response teams.
The mock exercise is expected to enhance preparedness and response capabilities for industrial hazards in the region, helping to significantly reduce potential risks to life and property in the future.
