Guwahati 05th February, 2026: Pandu College commenced its much-awaited College Week today with a series of vibrant inaugural events. The programme began with the hoisting of the college flag by Principal Dr. Sanchay Jyoti Borah, followed by the PCSUS flag hoisting by Dr. Santanu Roy Chowdhury, the overall in-charge of PCSUS.
The formal inauguration of College Week was carried out by the Principal, which marks the beginning of various celebrations and activities. This was followed by a colourful inter-departmental procession in which 22 departments participated enthusiastically, exhibited unity, creativity and team spirit.
The procession was judged by two distinguished academicians Dr. Tapan Kumar Sharma, retired Associate Professor from the Department of Physics, North Gauhati College, and Dr. Pori Hiloidari, Associate Professor, Department of English, Handique Girls’ College. Both judges appreciated and acknowledged the commendable performances and efforts of all participating departments.
Assamese department bagged the first position, followed by Botany department in second place, while Economics department secured third place in the rally competition.
The opening day set an energetic tone for the week-long celebrations. It reflects the vibrant academic and cultural spirit of Pandu College.
