Oversized truck gets stuck during unauthorised entry at Railway level crossing disrupting train operations between Tinsukia and Dibrugarh

Guwahati, 07 December: According to an official statement given by Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer, an oversized trailer truck got stuck while making an unauthorised entry at Railway level crossing 21DD between Lahoal and Chaulkhowa on the Tinsukia–Dibrugarh route at about 5:30 hours on 07.12.2025. The vehicle, reportedly belonging to a private company engaged in contractual work for Oil India Limited, Duliajan, was operating without proper authority and permissions when it attempted the illegal crossing.

As a result of the incident, train operations on the Tinsukia–Dibrugarh section remained suspended for nearly 4.5 hours. Several Dibrugarh-bound trains, including the 12424 Rajdhani Express, 15928 Tambaram Express and 15946 Lokmanya Tilak Express, were severely affected. To assist stranded passengers, N.F. Railway arranged road transportation to Dibrugarh. Food packets and drinking water were also provided to ensure passenger comfort during the disruption.

The unauthorised trailer was finally removed from the tracks at 10:10 hours. The truck driver has been taken into custody. NF Railway is coordinating closely with Oil India Limited to take stringent action against the responsible contractual company, with the aim of preventing any such incidents in the future.
