Guwahati November 19: Dream India Network (DIN) organized a Sensitization Session on Child Rights Mechanism for students, parents and teachers of TC Government HS & MP School as part of observing Child Rights Week 2025. The program was organized as part of Child Rights Week, November 2025.
Smt. Rilanjana Talukdar, Member from Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (ASCPCR) was present as the Key note speaker. In her session, she highlighted the four Broad categories of Child Rights- Right to Survival, Right to Development, Right to Protection, Right to Participation along with child protection and its reporting mechanism. Addressing the responsibilities of various departments like DCPU, CWC, Police in ensuring a speedy and efficient mechanism for ensuring child safety, Ms. Rilanjana highlighted the role of the ASCPCR in the overall protection mechanism of children. Reporting mechanisms related to child labour, abuse of children, trafficking, child marriage was discussed and also she highlighted about Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, impact of Social Media, Cyber crimes etc.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Subhalakshmi Barooah the Principal of TC Girls school appreciated the efforts of DIN for initiating the program. She insisted that for the holistic development of a child, the involvement of the society as a whole is of utmost importance. The program was coordinated by Ms. Rita Mohan and team from DIN Assam Chapter and was supported by the interns of TISS Guwahati Campus.
