NCHISF submits memo to NCHAC Principal Secretary

Haflong November 14: The N.C. Hills Indigenous Students Forum (NCHISF) met the Principal Secretary of the N.C. Hills Autonomous Council and submitted a memorandum demanding immediate rectification of the irregularities in the B.Ed. admission process at DIET Kalachand.

The Forum placed two specific options before the Council: either cancel the entire admission process and conduct it strictly on merit, or, since a candidate with 39 marks was admitted on the Council’s recommendation, accommodate all local candidates securing 39 marks and above in the current academic year. The Principal Secretary assured the Forum that the matter would be examined and requested it to submit the complete list of candidates for verification.

The NCHISF also drew attention to the long-pending vacancies in the teaching posts at DIET, particularly in the subjects of Environmental Science, Mathematics, and English. The Forum urged the Principal Secretary to take up the issue with the higher authorities to ensure that these posts are filled without further delay.

The Forum further cautioned that it would not remain silent until justice is delivered to all deserving candidates. It also warned that if no action is taken within the stipulated period set by the Forum, it would be compelled to launch an agitation, for which the Council would be held solely responsible.
